Microbiology department was established at Keshav Memorial Degree College in 2006. Microbiology course serves in English medium from its establishment. The faculty are well experienced and qualified.The faculty members have been updating their knowledge by attending various conferences, national seminars and workshops. The department provides hands on training on microbiological techniques suitable for pathological laboratories and industries. The department also provides students centric environment addressing each student by understanding their strengths and lacunae. Creating research atmosphere at undergraduate level and also encourage the students to participate in the national and international seminars.

Microbiology laboratory is equipped with Microscopes (Light and Electrical), Incubator, Hot air oven, Laminar airflow chamber, BOD Incubator, Spectrophoto meter, Refrigerator, Centrifuge, Hot plate, Water baths, Calori meter, Magnetic stirrer, digital balance, Common balance, Digital weighing machine, pH meter etc. We require Shaker incubator, -20 degrees freezer and 40 liters autoclave.

INFRA STRUCTURE: KMICS was established in the year,1995. The college is located in the heart of the city in its own building with spacious campus. The play grounds, Auditorium, Seminar halls well equipped, spacious and ventilated Laboratories and class room provide an excellent ambens for students to pursue their academics. Well experienced and dedicated faculty members strive hard for overall development of students.

Microbiology is a fascinating study of miniscule organisms which help run the world.Microbiology is a biological science focusing on the study of microscopic organisms and their structures.They study about different microscopes and handling bright field microscope.
Microbiology is the study of microscopic organisms: bacteria, viruses, fungi, archea and protozoa.A microbiologist studies the physiological, biochemical and genetic aspects of microorganisms.They study the structures, functions and classification of specific group of organisms and also find ways of both exploiting and controlling their activities.
Fields of pure microbiology include bacteriology (bacteria), mycology (fungi),phycology (algae), parasitology (parasites), virology (viruses), immunology (immune system) and nematology (nematodes).Medical microbiology is the study of disease causing microorganisms. It identifies ways to prevent, diagnose and treat infections. It also involves re
view of the immune system and focusing on the body’s response to invading microorganisms. The field focuses on the mechanism of infections, characteristics of the infecting microorganisms, to understand the framework of the clinical behaviour of the pathogens.
Applied microbiology explores microbe’s ability to make medicines, industrial enzymes and food ingredients. This includes industrial microbiology, in which scientists use microorganisms to develop products. Depending on the product, it further gets divided into food microbiology, diary microbiology and pharmaceutical microbiology.
